This vessel works great as an incense burner, just fill the hole with sand and put the cone incense on top, or push the incense stick into the sand. Note, raku pieces are not waterproof.

The designs made on this vessel were made by impressing grooves into the clay using a stamp of my own design. The grooves were then filled with copper oxide stained clay and scraped flat to reveal the design. Then the piece was once-fired with a raku glaze.
